Our Current Climate

A poem about climate change, made up of metaphors and clichés.

The heat is on, we’re in full flow,

Flooded by those gloomy facts,

Drowning out our sense of calm,

As clouds do not have silver linings.

While hope evaporates we see that

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Below the surface the melt goes on,

And drop by drop we glean the truth.

Once we ignored those winds of change,

Happening at glacial speed.

Now we face a tsunami

Of challenges, far too hard to fathom.

We need to dive deep for solutions,

And be ready to change tack,

Or else we are truly sunk.

Do you get my drift?
